The Columbus Blick store hosted a free Golden Acrylic lecture and demonstration this past Saturday, September 12, 2009.
Attendees learned about the versatility of acrylics and how they can be used as grounds for other media, such as watercolor or colored pencil. The topics of color mixing, blending, and controlling drying time were also covered. Students also discovered how new product lines from Golden can help them take their work in new directions.
The goal was for artists of all levels to gain new insights and skills to enhance their creative expression. Participants received free product samples and a literature packet from Golden.

The Columbus, Ohio, store is proud to be an offical sponsor of the 6th annual Agora event. First organized and held in 2006 by a local artist’s group, the Couchfire Collective, Agora has been growing in popularity and scope ever since. The purpose of Agora is to bring artists into contact with patrons in one space, giving everyone a chance to interact, as well as appreciate and purchase the artwork on display.
Agora 6 will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009, from Noon-Midnight at Junctionview Studios (889 Williams Ave., Columbus, Ohio). This year promises to be just as inspiring and exciting as previous events, so save the date and come check it out!
