Our Holiday Demos start the weekend of November 28th and 29th! Mark your calendars and be sure to stop into your local Blick store to take part in these festive and FREE interactive events. Spread holiday cheer with handmade greeting cards or deck the halls with mini canvas ornaments. All demos are scheduled for 2-5pm on the dates listed below.

The November 2009 Featured Artists are students from Beveridge Magnet School in Omaha, NE. On display are 60 pieces of artwork, most created using oil pastels. Thank you to Karen Bertelsen, an art teacher at Beveridge, for sharing these wonderful pieces of student work! All artwork is on exhibit in the Omaha Blick store throughout the month of November.

Blick retail locations* will host special Halloween-themed Blick-or-Treat activities Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th. Join the fun by participating in face painting demos and a scary mini canvas painting contest. Activities are scheduled from 2-5pm both days.

Come and view artwork by the October Artists of the Month at the Omaha, Nebraska Blick store. A group of five local visual artists have been chosen to share their art through the end of October. Don’t miss your chance to see the work of these talented individuals!
Clarissia Love is displaying African paintings done with paint markers and pen and ink. Her colorful images are full of life. Douglas Benn has a display of Giclee prints that reflect the use of modern design and vibrant color. Black and white Giclee prints filled with detail are also on display from Jared Sluger. Louis Simpson’s vivid pieces are done using marker and feature exciting characters. Kurt Jacobs’ 3-D pieces in colored pencil and pen and ink are also on display.

Omaha's September Artists
The Blick store in Omaha, Nebraska will display works by five local artists throughout the month of September. Among this month’s featured artists is Tyler Kissel, whose unique acrylic painted wood panels are made from recycled wood pieces and finished with a gloss varnish. Melissa McMullen’s creates decorative surfaces by applying paper cutouts and coating the pieces with varnish.

Several beautiful pottery pieces are on display by Tom Harnack. Tom is one of the founding artists of Omaha Clay Works, located in the Old Market area of Omaha. Also being exhibited are acrylic paintings by Erin Giannangelo and airbrush portraits by Ruben Aragomes. Ruben is known for his work on t-shirts as well as on paper.
